QVC Honored for Innovative Mentoring Program with Big Brothers Big Sisters

May 2, 2019: The Philadelphia Business Journal has selected QVC and Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence as winners of the 2019 Faces of Philanthropy awards program.

Philadelphia’s Faces of Philanthropy recognized the most impactful philanthropic initiatives between non-profit companies and for-profit companies which have a large impact on the community through monetary donations, social impact, and community involvement.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region’s mission is to provide children who are facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

BBBS Independence partnered with QVC in 2008 to launch an innovative workplace mentoring program called Beyond School Walls. The goal of the program is to broaden educational opportunities and career horizons for underserved youth. Since the inception of the program, more than 280 youth have been mentored by QVC team members.

In addition to the Beyond School Walls program in West Chester, PA,Qurate Retail Group has now been expanded the program to include their HSN corporate office in St. Petersburg, FL.  HSN launched a Beyond School Walls program that now engages 27 HSN employees and serves 27 additional youth.
