At KYW Women’s Achievement Awards, QVC VP Praises the Power of Mentors

On the path to greatness, it pays to surround yourself with people who can help you grow and bring out your best.

“No matter where we are in our lives, no matter what obstacles we face, there are always people ready and willing to help,” Colleen Rooney, QVC’s Vice President of Global Communications and Community Affairs, told attendees at KYW News Radio’s 8th Annual Women’s Achievement Awards. “Not only have I been able to learn from and emulate amazing people throughout my life, but since I’ve joined QVC, I’ve seen how mentorship can transform other people’s careers as well.”

Colleen was the keynote speaker at the June 28 awards ceremony, which honored the many contributions and accomplishments of Philadelphia-area women and highlighted strategies that help women advance their careers, businesses and lives.

“Mentorship is one of the most important ingredients to success, professionally and personally,” Colleen said. “And mentoring others can be just as powerful a tool for your own development and for the greater good.”

This year’s Women’s Achievement Awards celebrated five women under 40 as “Rising Stars” in the local community:

“I’m so inspired by these five women and everything they are accomplishing in our community,” Colleen said. “For me personally, and for all of us at QVC, it’s a privilege to help KYW share these remarkable stories so that other women can network with them and learn from them.”

Colleen’s participation in this event reinforces QVC’s mission of supporting the success and wellness of women through the power of relationships.
