The Fight Against Heart Disease and Stroke Gets a $25,000 Boost From QVC

Responsibility

For one day, residents of three cities doubled the impact of their donations to the American Heart Association, thanks to QVC.

The American Heart Association encouraging everyone to wear red and give on National Wear Red Day®, Friday, February 3, to raise money and awareness for the fight against heart disease and stroke.

QVC matched donations from New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, up to $25,000.

“Supporting the health and wellness of women is a key goal of QVC’s charitable mission, and heart health is a critical issue for women who play such an important role in building strong families and communities,” said Suzanne Quigley, Director of Community Affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility at QVC. “The American Heart Association is one of QVC’s featured charities and we are excited to provide our support for National Wear Red Day.”

More than 800,000 people in the U.S. die from heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases each year. But 80 percent of cardiovascular disease may be prevented through healthy habits such as eating right, controlling cholesterol, getting physical activity and not smoking.

National Wear Red Day officially kicked off American Heart Month with events across America to raise money and teach Americans how they can improve their heart health.
