Philadelphia Inquirer Honors QVC’s Philanthropic Work with Red Cross

June 24, 2019: The Philadelphia Inquirer Corporate Philanthropy Awards program recently honored QVC in the categories of ‘Most Charitable Cash’ and ‘Most Charitable In-Kind’. The recognition is a result of the company’s ongoing philanthropic work with the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania, including an innovative ‘pop-up’ event.

Through disaster response donations, event sponsorship and blood drives, QVC has been a longtime supporter of the Red Cross. In 2018, the company decided to think outside the box to develop a team member volunteer engagement in support of this impactful organization. This led to the first QVC micro volunteer pop-up event, generating 4,800 comfort kits for local families and individuals facing tragedy or disaster.

“It was such a powerful testament to the giving nature of our team here,” said Kate Sheehan, Senior Manager of Community Affairs for QVC. “While everyone had different reasons for volunteering, it was the personal stories I heard throughout the day that really touched me. More than one team member shared with me that they had benefited from Red Cross relief services at some point in their lives. Now was their turn to pay it forward.”
