Nuclear Engineer Wins First-Ever QVC Female Entrepreneurship Award
QVC has honored Rachel Heath, a full-time Reactor Engineer and the first female qualified Shift Manager at Limerick Generating Station in Pottstown, Pa., with the 2018 QVC Female Entrepreneurship Award.
This new award recognizes a Philadelphia-area female leader who exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit and inspires the next generation of women leaders to not only dream, but dare to live their dreams.
“Rachel is forging the way in a male-dominated field, while giving back to future female STEM leaders by reaching out to young women to educate them about nuclear power,” said Suzanne Quigley, Director of Corporate Responsibility for Qurate Retail Group. “We are confident that one day, many girls will choose their career paths in the STEM field with Rachel as their inspiration.”
Suzanne presented the award to Rachel at KYW Newsradio’s Ninth Annual Women’s Achievement Awards, an event in June honoring women who are making a positive impact in the region. QVC also sponsored this event, marking the second year QVC has done this.
Teaming up with KYW to recognize and support the success of local women like Rachel is one of the many ways that QVC continues to celebrate female entrepreneurship and empowerment.
