QVC Selected as One of Philadelphia’s Best Places to Work
The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly.com have named QVC as one of the region’s Top Workplaces, based on an anonymous survey of 37,000 people working at 189 companies and organizations across the Delaware Valley.
QVC, which has 2,400 team members at its world headquarters in West Chester, Pa., ranked 29th among large employers. The full list of winners was announced on Sunday, Mar. 18.
The survey was an opportunity for QVC to be measured against its peers as a workplace dedicated to cultivating and maintaining a highly engaging and enriching team member experience. About 1,500 companies and organizations were invited to participate in the survey.
To identify Top Workplaces, consulting firm Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics) asked team members at participating organizations to share their thoughts on five key topics:
- Alignment — Do people feel aligned around their company’s strategic direction and values?
- Connection — Do people feel appreciated, is their work meaningful?
- Effectiveness — Do people feel they are innovating and doing things well?
- Coaching — Do people feel that their managers care and are helping them grow?
- Engagement — Do people feel motivated, would they refer their workplace to others?
QVC’s highest scores were around its strong core values, which go back to the company’s founding: Customer Focus, Teamwork, Pioneering Spirit, Commitment to Excellence, Respect and Concern for Each Other, Ethics and Integrity, Openness and Trust, and Fun Along the Way.
QVC’s West Chester sites include 20 state-of-the-art studios, from which QVC broadcasts live 24-7 to over 100 million US homes, engaging shoppers via three television networks, an ecommerce site and multiple mobile apps and social pages. Globally, QVC reaches approximately 370 million homes via 14 broadcast networks (including our joint venture in China), six websites and 220 social pages.
