QVC UK Named a Finalist in World’s First Menopause Friendly Employer Awards

October 28, 2022: QVC^® UK, a world leader in video commerce, has been named a finalist in two categories in the world’s first Menopause Friendly Employer Awards. Organized by Menopause Friendly and supported by the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), the awards celebrate employers who have gone above and beyond in their quest to be “menopause friendly”. The inaugural Menopause Friendly Employer Awards attracted over 85 entries across 10 categories. QVC UK was named a finalist in the Best Engagement Campaign category for their team member celebration of World Menopause Day in October 2021, led by QVC UK’s Gender Equality TMRG (Team Member Resource Group). In addition, QVC UK team member, Tracey Cuckson, was named a finalist in the community award category for her passionate work to help break down the taboo around menopause as part of her work with the same TMRG.

While QVC believes the experience of going through menopause should be a unifying, solidarity-building experience for women, it’s woefully under-discussed and under-represented in everyday lives. Atomik Research¹ discovered that more than one in five women feel they have no one they can talk to about menopause, and only 9% of the over 2,000 women surveyed feel prepared for this life-changing event. Additionally, a third of women surveyed had never even discussed menopause with another female relative. These startling statistics showcase a real need to change the narrative, and why QVC UK has launched the Menopause Your Way campaign featuring inspiring women from all walks of life as they share their own journeys around menopause. As part of the new campaign, QVC UK is fostering a sense of community by involving customers directly in weekly Live shows, answering questions with industry experts on Facebook and Instagram, and hearing about viewers’ game-changing product picks.
