August 2, 2018: QVC’s Resident Foodie Shares His Favorite Comfort Food Shortcuts

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (August 2, 2018) – Following the release of his 2014 best-selling cookbook, QVC’s Resident Foodie and host of “In the Kitchen with David®” is sharing his latest recipes designed to satisfy comfort food cravings in less time than ever before. The much-anticipated cookbook, Comfort Food Shortcuts: An “In the Kitchen with David” Cookbook from QVC’s Resident Foodie, will be available for presale beginning August 5, 2018 through QVC. The book will be published as a Ballantine Hardcover on December 4, 2018. Ballantine Bantam Dell is an imprint of the Random House Publishing Group, a division of Penguin Random House, the world’s largest trade-book publisher, whose parent company is Bertelsmann AG.

Featuring 110 comfort food recipes that are all 10 ingredients or fewer, Venable’s cookbook focuses on his favorite supermarket shortcuts to help make preparing classic comfort foods easier and faster. In addition to a full-page color photo and easy-to-follow instructions, each recipe has been created to provide all of the flavor and quality of traditional comfort food but with simple shortcuts, resulting in less time in the kitchen and more time around the table with family and friends.

“I am so excited to share this book with my fellow foodies,” said Venable. “We live in a fast-paced world, and it is so important to take a break and enjoy the company of those you love. Food has a way of bringing everyone together, which is why I worked so hard to develop recipes that provide all of the flavor and quality of traditional comfort food but with simple shortcuts, so you can get back to the things that matter most.”

Valerie Bertinelli, two-time Golden Globe winner and New York Times best-selling author, combines her love for cooking and admiration for David in the foreword of David’s third installment, which features chapters ranging from “Breakfast and Brunch” to “Noodles and More Noodles,” and even includes recipes focused specifically on air frying.

“David’s passion for food and larger-than-life personality are some of the key ingredients that have helped make ‘In the Kitchen with David’ so successful,” said Steve Hofmann, President of QVC US. “His newest cookbook perfectly captures his desire to bring friends and families together through his favorite comfort foods, a goal that is definitely worthy of a ‘Happy Dance’.”

Venable’s hit show, “In the Kitchen with David,” offers a diverse and unique multiplatform experience with features such as product information, cooking demonstrations, on-air guests, celebrity appearances and social engagement. Since joining QVC in 1993, Venable has amassed an impressive social following, with over 470,000 thousand fans on Facebook alone. Venable is the author of the 2012 best-selling cookbook In the Kitchen with David: QVC’s Resident Foodie Presents Comfort Foods That Take You Home, and he also released a second cookbook, Back Around the Table: An “In the Kitchen with David” Cookbook from QVC’s Resident Foodie in October 2014.
